Ilios - a graceful designer floor lamp with integrated sliding dimmer The Mond served as a great model for the Munich-based luminaire designer Ingo Maurer when he designed this filigran floor lamp Ilios in 1983. Placed on a thin cross-connection between two delicate metal struts, the circular lampshade of the light is enthroned - if it can be described as such. Just as the Mond serves as a point of orientation at night, the sphere made of white opal glass, behind which the bulb sits, is a luminous fixed point in complete darkness. The metal struts converge at a common point in the centre of the solid steel base, separated only by a fluorescent red insulating wedge, which also perfects the symmetry of this light. There is no doubt that Ilios' artistic component is unmistakable despite its minimalist design, making it an instant eye-catcher. The Ilios floor lamp has a cord transformer with a slider that can be used to adjust the brightness as required.
