Dimmable LED floor lamp Mite made of glass fabric and Kevlar® fiberThe LED floor lamp Mite is made of glass and Kevlar® fibers, an innovative mix of materials that makes up both the supporting structure and the decoration of the lamp. Kevlar® is a particularly strong and heat-resistant synthetic fiber that is used, for example, in the manufacture of tires or bulletproof vests. With its narrow shape that widens towards the top, the floor lamp is reminiscent of an oversized champagne flute. On the top side, the LED light source is installed, which radiates the warm light to the ceiling. By illuminating the inside, the shape and ornamentation of the lamp comes into its own. Mite has a transparent cable. There is a switch integrated with the floor lamp can be switched on and off and dimmed continuously.The collaboration between designer Marc Sadler and the renowned company Foscarini began in 2001 with Mite. Due to the innovative design of the lamp, it was awarded the Compasso d'Oro and is now an absolute cult model of Foscarini. Marc Sadler worked for a long time as an industrial designer in the sports industry, where he liked to experiment with new materials and production processes. This is still a defining feature of his work today.
