Its diffuser is made of white glass that becomes increasingly transparent towards the bottom and is hand-crafted and mouth-blown. A round cover made of lacquered aluminium is attached to the top, which also functions as a touch dimmer. With a touch anywhere on the plate, one of three brightness levels can be selected or the table lamp can be switched on and off again. The built-in technology inside is equipped with state-of-the-art, energy-efficient LEDs that are dimmable and additionally protected on the inside by a cylindrical diffuser made of plastic. None of this is visible from the outside through the glass, which gives the Soffio LED table lamp a sophisticated appearance. The light, which is gently emitted through the glass, creates a pleasant atmosphere that is easy and simple to operate thanks to the touch dimmer. The impressive design for Foscarini was created by the two Milanese designers Ludovica and Roberto Palomba, who have been working with their own studio in the fields of architecture and interior design for major international brands since 1994. For Foscarini, they are not only responsible for Soffio, but also for other models and series.
