PH 3/2 designer pendant light – a light that never goes out of fashion


With its downward-shining light, the PH 3/2 pendant light offers homogeneous and glare-free lighting for the surrounding area. It is equally well-suited to table lighting as it is to general lighting. The composition of the hand-blown opal glass – it comprises three layers and features a glossy side and a sand-blasted matt side – serves to create very soft, cosy lighting.

The three-layer system, which shapes the design of the PH 3/2 pendant light, remains as current and popular as it was when the Danish designer, architect, writer and journalist Poul Henningsen first created it for the lighting manufacturer Louis Poulsen. This was back in 1925/26 and Henningsen’s co-operation with Louis Poulsen continued until the designer’s death in 1967.

Poul Henningsen’s work focused on creating a light with totally glare-free lighting and on best fulfilling the human need for light. It is a desire that continues to form the motto of the lighting company Louis Poulsen.
