Beautifully shaped LED pendant light Beat Stout made of sheet brass The lights in the Beat series, which are made of Massive sheet brass, can be found in private homes, restaurants and hotels all over the world. They are characterised by an expressive minimalism, with the original design inspired by the sculptural simplicity of traditional Indian water containers. In 2004, Tom Dixon was involved in an initiative in the city of Jaipur to create alternative opportunities for the dwindling craftsmen and their skills there. This is where the Beat project was born. Master craftsmen from Moradabad in northern India produce the lampshades in the Beat series, which are made using traditional brass craftsmanship. The inside of each light bears the marks of the craftsman who created the lampshade. Spun brass, braised and beaten by hand - this production process makes each piece unique.
