Beat Wide LED pendant light made of brass The wide lampshade, handcrafted from sheet brass, emits the light from the integrated LEDs downwards at a wide angle, illuminating an extensive area below the light. The flat lampshade of the Beat Wide LED pendant light was handcrafted in India, with the inside being beaten by hand. This process not only creates a very cosy light, but also makes each piece unique, as no two pieces are 100% alike. The Beat luminaire series was created when the designer Tom Dixon was involved in an initiative in Jaipur, India, which aimed to open up new perspectives for Indian craftspeople in the region. Since then, the lights in the Beat series have been made in Moradabad in northern India using traditional brass craftsmanship. It can take up to four days for a light to be handcrafted, braised and hand-fitted from the inside.
