Original 1227 Mini wall lamp with swivelling head The Original 1227 Mini wall lamp, launched in 2015, proves that an eye-catching lighting accessory does not have to be large to make an impression. Its shade shape is the same as that of the Anglepoise® work light patented by its creator George Carwardine in 1932. The lacquered lampshade is white on the inside, providing an ideal platform for the reflection of the light emitted. A wall light that is suitable for many applications: as additional lighting in industrially designed living and office spaces, but also as a light source above the head of the bed. The switch is located at the bottom of the wall mount. George Carwardine, the creator of the Anglepoise® design, actually worked as an engineer in the automotive industry, developing shock absorbers, until he decided in 1930 to produce a work light with optimum function. He patented the resulting Anglepoise® work light in 1932, and in 1934 he sold the licence for it to the company Terry & Sons, which had previously supplied the springs for his articulated light.
