Alphabet of Light Circular LED pendant light – a design product by Artemide
With its circular light element, this LED pendant light represents another link in the chain of the series of lights conceived by BIG – Bjarke Ingels Group – comprising letters, numbers and lines, which can be used to create countless lighting scenarios in both private and public spaces. The circular pendant light is fitted with lighting technology based on a patented optoelectronic and mechanical process developed by the manufacturer Artemide, which allows the light to be diffused throughout the room. This creates a very cosy atmosphere wherever the ‘Alphabet of Light Circular’ is used.
The Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) is a collective of architects and designers who prioritise technical expertise in their projects. The ‘Alphabet of Light’ series of lights reflects this. Their first project, in 2003, was the Harbour Bath in Copenhagen – the transformation of the dilapidated harbour promenade in the Brygge Islands area into a recreational and social hub for the city. This was followed by the 8 House (2010), Superkilen (2012) and the Danish Maritime Museum. Current projects include: 57th West (a residential building with 750 units in Manhattan), the Vancouver House Tower, the LEGO Brand House in Denmark and the Faroe Islands Education Centre.
