Flexia LED pendant light with sound-absorbing properties

Inspired by papyroflexia – the technique of bending papyrus – designer Mario Cucinella created a series of lights called Flexia, which is visually reminiscent of the Japanese art of origami.

The series of lights arose from the combination of Artemide’s expertise in lighting technology and Mario Cucinella’s experience.

The Flexia pendant light is made partly from PET bottles and partly from other plastics, and is fitted with an acoustic panel that absorbs sound waves reflected within the room. The transparent light-emitting surface, featuring patented Discovery technology, ensures uniform, comfortable and diffuse light distribution. The luminaire’s flexible blades, fitted with a rotating mechanism, allow for adjustable angles and positions that can be tailored to the surrounding environment. The pendant light complies with UGR standards for use in working environments and is therefore ideally suited for use in offices or meeting rooms.

Important note: A power unit is required to operate the light. This must be ordered as an accessory. With the power unit, the light can be switched on and off either conventionally via a light switch or smartly via the Artemide app. This is available free of charge from the App Store for Apple and iOS.
