Miconos glass pendant light – made in Italy
The modern Miconos glass pendant light is crafted from steel and handblown glass. With its rounded forms, from the ceiling canopy right through to the spherical lampshade, Miconos has a very harmonious appearance whilst also creating striking accents thanks to its chrome finish. The bulb is visible. A distinctive detail characterises the Miconos series of lights: the glass lampshade features an eyelet at the top, allowing it to be hung from a hook on the suspension system.
The Miconos pendant light was designed by Ernesto Gismondi, who founded the lighting company Artemide in Italy in 1960. In addition to manufacturing lighting, Artemide also operates numerous research centres that investigate materials, technologies and socio-cultural aspects in order to provide people with optimal lighting. Particular emphasis is also placed on traditional manufacturing methods.
