A modern reinterpretation of oriental lighting – the nh S1 14 hanging light


The designer duo Neri&Hu bases its work on using research as a design tool, and creates a dynamic interaction between the components of experience, detail, material, form and light. This is how the nh series of lamps was created, which the nh S1 14 pendant lamp originates from.

nh S1 14 consists of an aluminium suspension and a glass ball attached to it made of handblown glass. The metal has a black and brass finish, and harmonises perfectly with the white of the lampshade. The ball shape encloses the light source to be used, and with the satin material produces a gentle and atmospheric lighting. Because the sphere is moveable, the light is provided where it is needed.

Artemide is a light manufacturer which focuses on creating unique lights using high-quality materials and modern technology based its own research. Artemide also takes socio-cultural aspects into account in pursuing a vision of increasing human well-being.
