Deceptively simple yet convincingly powerful - the Surf LED wall light


The wall light has a rather simple design, which was developed by Artemide's Scottish product designer Neil Poulton in 2013. Don’t be fooled by its simplicity, however. Its interior houses high-power LEDs, which provide a very high light output and are therefore ideal for use in hotels, restaurants, offices or the home.

The elegant wall light is made of painted aluminium and, with its pleasant warm white light, creates a wonderful, indirect light, which shines gently upwards. The powerful LEDs produce sufficient brightness for the room and can also be dimmed as needed. As the name suggests, the slightly curved shape of the wall light is reminiscent of a small surfboard giving it the appearance of a simple yet elegant wall fitting.

Neil Poulton, the award-winning product designer who lives in France, has worked with Artemide several times. He specializes in the design of deceptively simple-looking mass-produced items, which he demonstrated perfectly in 2013, inter alia, with the timeless design of the Surf LED wall light.
