Artemide Unterlinden - nostalgia and modern technology 


The Unterlinden LED hanging light was originally conceived for museums. The lampshade with a nostalgic appearance comes with modern LED technology. It is made entirely of brass and has a structure which resembles a wood grain. The Unterlinden light is perfect for lighting up counters or for use in bars, where several lights are suspended at the same time, for example in a row.

The design originates from the Swiss design studio Herzog & de Meuron. The studio, which was founded in 1978 in Basel, has now developed to become an international team of designers with branches in Hamburg, London, Madrid and New York. Its commissions include smaller projects such as private homes, as well as large projects such as museums or entire stadiums. Herzog & de Meuron designed the Unterlinden series of lights for the Italian lighting manufacturer Artemide.
