Yanzi LED hanging light in a modern design with a glass lampshade

The design of the Yanzi hanging light evokes an association with a bird sitting on a rod in a protective cage: a small, brass-coloured arm is attached to the black painted frame rod, and there is a white, LED-illuminated glass sphere sitting on this arm. A transparent glass lampshade serves as the protective cage here. It gives you an unobstructed view of its interior and allows the light to shine in all directions.

This fascinating hanging light was designed by the design office Neri & Hu in Shanghai, which has endeavoured to pick up on cultural traditions and combine them with modernity in its building conversions and new buildings, as well as with respect to its product design, since the year of its foundation in 2004. The two designers Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu have received many well-known design awards for their work, e.g. Red Dot Awards, Great Indoor Awards, Design for Asia Awards, and they were included in the US Interior Design Hall of Fame in 2013.

The Yanzi series of lights is made by the Italian lighting manufacturer Artemide. Their lights are celebrated internationally as icons of contemporary design and have been exhibited in most museums of modern art, e.g. the MoMA in New York.
