The Filigran suspension system gives the flat body of the luminaire the appearance of a surface of light floating in space. Glas, one of the oldest materials known to mankind, plays a key role in the production process. It has been used for many thousands of years in a wide variety of areas, not least because of its almost unlimited lifespan, its infinite variety and the fact that it is made from raw materials that are available in unlimited quantities. It serves as a carrier of light and is the perfect material for this role. With its integrated user interface, the Glas takes on the function of a circuit board, thereby enabling environmentally friendly and sustainable production. OMLED One is the first luminaire series in the world to be equipped with OLEDs. These pioneering "organic light-emitting diodes" combine many ecological and economic advantages. Between two current-conducting layers are thin layers of semiconducting, organic materials that serve as bulbs. The organic layer emits light as long as electricity is flowing. The Glas luminaire housing is both the control element and the circuit board. The manufacturing process for the OMLED One s5 was developed and patented in Germany. Electronic components, conductive tracks, contacts and a dimmable circuit were applied to the high-quality Glas. The OLEDs and all electronic components are arranged directly on the Glas. OLEDs consume little power and provide an excellent image, e.g. for smartphones and large-screen televisions. They produce a very natural, glare-free and pleasant light for living and working spaces that does not dazzle.
