It was made of eight hemispheres of iron, which - starting from the round wall mount and overlapping each other - stage each other. This creates an indirect, warm light that also paints spherical shadows on the wall. Bolladaria can also be used to illuminate ceilings, and its brightness can be adjusted via an external dimmer.
