2097 - a chandelier for the future? When you first look at the 2097 chandelier, you probably wouldn't think that the design for this slightly futuristic-looking lighting object dates back to 1958. It would be much more likely to be dated 2097 - in keeping with its name. However, the Italian engineer and designer Gino Sarfatti (1912 - 1984) certainly had the future in mind with this reduction of the magnificent, classic chandelier. The rudimentary characteristics of a chandelier - as chandeliers are often called - are still present, but in a very purist form. 50 curved arms are attached to the core of the light by crossbars. At the end of each arm is a small light source in the form of E14 bulbs. Gino Sarfatti is one of the veteran designers of the Italian manufacturer FLOS. In his thirty-year career as a designer, Sarfatti has designed over 400 lights.
