The white glass is complemented by a contrasting black, simple and rather delicate frame on which the sphere appears to float. The base and frame are made of solid, painted steel and hold the glass sphere securely in place. The design comes from the English product and furniture designer Jasper Morrison, who developed this family of lights for the Italian lighting manufacturer FLOS in 1998.
