Table lamp Parrot with a shade made of abacá fibers


Hamonic and natural looks the table lamp Parrot of the French manufacturer Forestier. Its cone-shaped shade was woven from Abacá fibers. This fiber is obtained from the inside of the tree of the same name and is extremely tear-resistant and robust, which is why it is also used to make ship ropes. A graphic pattern in harmonious, natural colors makes the shade an eye-catcher on the dark metal frame. The umbrella's position can be changed thanks to the joint that connects the vertical and horizontal frame poles.

Jette Scheib designed the Parrot series of lamps for the French company Forestier. She studied at the University of the Arts in Berlin and founded her own design studio in Barcelona after graduating in 2005. She specializes in home accessories, lighting and gift items, which she designs for international companies. Jette Scheib likes to be inspired by nature and organic shapes in her designs and also enjoys working with materials from nature.
