Glass wall lamp Chouchin 3 Semi by Foscarini


A shade made of blown glass and a holder made of lacquered metal - the wall lamp Chouchin 3 Semi is composed of these elements. In contrast to the other lamps of the series, here the body is vertically halved and discharges semicircularly into the room.

The Chouchin lighting series was designed by Ionna Vautrin, a French designer whose concepts are immediately understandable, yet surprising. The inspiration for the design of the Chouchin lamp series comes from the traditional Japanese lampions, from which the name of the Chouchin lamp series is also derived. While the lampions in Japan are made of paper or bamboo, the shades of the series Chouchin by Foscarini are made of noble, blown opal glass. This emits a soft light to all sides, the light comes out directly only through the lower opening.

Ionna Vautrin, who opened her own design studio after various collaborations throughout Europe and after being awarded the "Grand Prix de la Création", designed the Chouchin lamp series for the Italian manufacturer Foscarini. Luminaires by Foscarini are decorative day and night, they surprise, inspire and specifically influence the character of the room.
