Product description

Floor lamp Gem combines Italian handicraft and refined design


As soon as sound waves hit water or other liquids, gentle waves and flowing geometric patterns form on the surface. It is precisely this phenomenon that inspired designers Ludovica and Roberto Palomba to create the Gem range, which includes this floor lamp. The waves are reflected on the surface of the round shade, which is made of mouth-blown glass. The flowing, intersecting lines create three-dimensional facets which, when combined with light, create atmospheric accents. The lamp is completely encased in the white glass, which provides a soft and glare-free light. The metal base with its reduced appearance underlines the minimalist and at the same time creative design of the floor lamp.

The designer duo created Gem for the brand manufacturer Foscarini, which was founded in 1981 on the Venetian island of Murano. The material glass is the focus of many of the brand's lamps and the floor lamp Gem is also a homage to the precious material, which is elaborately handcrafted.
