The design of this elegant light dates back to the 1990s, when Rodolfo Dordoni designed a collection of table, floor and pendant lights with glass diffusers for the Venetian lighting manufacturer Foscarini, including the Buds series. Its special feature was and still is the special glass shades, which are produced using a special technique and have five layers of mouth-blown glass, with the inner layer in a straw yellow colour and the other four layers in the respective colour of the light. When switched off, the Buds 3 light appears cool and sober, but when switched on it suddenly appears warm and pleasant. The reason for this is the yellow layer on the inside, which enhances the warm white light and also gives the outer colour a pleasant undertone through the layers of glass. As an LED pendant light, Buds 3 is perfect for table lighting, whether in the private dining room, kitchen or even in the catering trade.
