This futuristic model was designed in 2011 by Giulio Iacchetti, an Italian product designer who mainly focuses on industrial design. While the base and stem of the Magneto floor lamp are kept simple and inconspicuous, the head of the lamp houses the extraordinary superpower. The spotlight head resembles a torch in terms of its form and light output, and its flexibility is also very similar to that of a portable light. It seems as if the spotlight is only connected to the lamp base via the cable running up the shaft. But a closer look reveals a small, inconspicuous sphere located between the spotlight and the shaft. It is a powerful magnet that acts as a joint between the spotlight and the lamp base and enables the flexible, almost unlimited alignment of the pinpoint light beam. Ten recesses in the frame of the light also offer the option of connecting the spotlight to the Basis at different heights. Magneto is an absolutely futuristic eye-catcher visually, but it is also impressive in terms of its lighting effect. When directed towards the ceiling, it creates harmonious ambient lighting; when focussed on a table or a book, the LED floor lamp provides the ideal reading light.
