Foscarini Rituals 1 - table lamp made of hand-blown glass, with dimmer The Rituals 1 table lamp from Foscarini radiates pure relaxation and balance. The shape and structure of its mouth-blown glass shade is less reminiscent of solid glass and more of light Japanese paper. True to its name, Rituals proves that the background lighting for meditation or relaxation sessions does not necessarily have to come from light sources made of natural materials, but that glass lamps can also conjure up a cosy, feel-good atmosphere. The horizontal rings that run through the lampshade of the light are created using a special glass processing technique called "a fermo". With this blowing technique, the glass is not turned in the mould. Negative decorations in the mould are imprinted into the glass, creating the characteristic stripe pattern that appears impressively when the light is switched on. The finishing touches are literally made by hand. Last but not least, the glass is immersed in acid to create a plaster-like appearance. The glass rests on a minimalist three-legged frame made of lacquered metal with a roughened surface - a clear but fitting contrast to the organically shaped lampshade. Foscarini's Rituals 1 is best suited to rooms with a calm, cosy atmosphere. The Rituals series, designed by Ludovica and Roberto Palomba, offers a particularly expressive composition of different types and shapes of light. Rituals 1 is powered by a transparent cable with an integrated dimmer for infinitely variable brightness control.
