Foscarini Rituals - pendant light made of mouth-blown glass Not only the filigran cut glass of the Rituals pendant light, but also its bulbous form are reminiscent of traditional Japanese paper lanterns, which are still used today at Japanese festivals or processions or as decorative objects in front of restaurants or temples. The designer couple Ludovica + Roberto Palomba took this oriental character and interpreted it in a modern way when designing the Rituals light series using high-quality, mouth-blown glass. The bulbous glass body of the Rituals pendant light from Foscarini has a fine, horizontal cut pattern that gives the actually cool, hard material a soft and gentle appearance. The light shining through the glass body is also warm and harmonious, making Rituals the perfect light source for cosy hours. A special blowing technique is used to produce the glass shade, which means that the glass is not twisted in the mould. The stripe pattern is created by negative decorations in the mould, which are imprinted on the surface of the Glas. The finishing touches are applied by hand before the glass is finally dipped in acid to achieve the plaster effect that makes the Rituals range of lamps unique.
