Pendant lamp Orient™ with organically shaped aluminium shade


The design of the Orient™ pendant lamp originates from Jo Hammerborg from 1963 and has lost nothing of its stylistic presence. A pendant lamp whose aluminium shade is individually handcrafted into its organic shape in a wooden mould and which is excellent for illuminating a dining table or a counter, for example.

Jo Hammerborg (1920-1982) trained as a silversmith, took part in Denmark's fight for freedom as a saboteur from 1940-1945, studied at the Academy of Art and worked as head of design at the lighting manufacturer Fog&Mørup from 1957-1980. During this time he created more than 180 lamps, which were characterised by his clear design philosophy and his enormous understanding of form, function and aesthetics. For decades, his creations were only available from antique dealers. In 2013, the traditional Danish company FRITZ HANSEN decided to relaunch the Orient™ pendant lamp together with Jo Hammerborg's family.

FRITZ HANSEN has been a guarantor for products of high craftsmanship and exclusive design for almost 150 years.
