Design pendant luminaire Multi-Lite: adjustable metal shade with variable light direction

The pendant lamp Multi-Lite goes back to a design of the Danish designer Louis Weisdorf from 1972. The internationally renowned designer and architect skilfully expresses his design diversity. The shade is made of two outer metal elements in the shape of quarter spheres, which are held by an outer ring and can be variably arranged around two centrally arranged cylinders. The cylinders shield the light laterally and allow it to escape upwards and downwards. The quarter spheres can, for example, be grouped into a hemisphere and either direct the light completely downwards, direct the light indirectly upwards or screen it laterally. In this way, not only can new lighting effects be created again and again, but also a constantly new look that acts as a creative eye-catcher.

After graduating from the Danish Royal Academy of Fine Arts in 1954, Louis Weisdorf worked in a wide variety of fields, including construction and the Tivoli amusement park in Copenhagen, where he held the position of principal assistant for ten years. In the late 1960s he opened his own studio together with the architect Ole Panton. He has worked both nationally and internationally and has collaborated with well-known designers such as Poul Henningsen and Verner Panton. His works are also traded as collector's items at auctions.

The Gubi company - founded in 1967 - distributes furniture and lighting of the highest quality worldwide, which also meet the highest demands.
