Handmade designer table lamp made of Japanese paper


Ingo Maurer uses a classic lamp shape in the Lampampe table lamp and interprets this in a modern way. The light does not consist of a fabric lampshade and a stable base, like traditional table lamps, but is made entirely of Japanese paper that is stretched onto a metal frame.  The paper is deliberately slightly creased, creating interesting shadow elements. The material used is very thin and translucent and thus produces an indirect, diffuse light around the table lamp.

Due to the sensitive paper, the lamp must not be placed in rooms with a high humidity under any circumstances.
