Designer light for your desk: Taj by Ferruccio Laviani

A conscious alternative to the articulated, mechanised desk lamp is the Taj model by designer Ferruccio Laviani, who has been designing lights and furniture for the Italian company Kartell for over 20 years. Its sculpted and at the same time simple shape allows the table lamp to make a statement in terms of aesthetics on the one hand, while optimally fulfilling its function as a desk lamp on the other. The LEDs are built into the upper end of the boldly curved body, which appears to be cast from a single mould, so that they can emit their light downwards onto the table surface.

Some of the most prominent designer pieces from the company Kartell include the K 1340 children's chair and the KS 1481 lemon squeezer. In terms of lights, the 4006 model from Achille and Piergiacomo Castiglioni from 1959 and the Tic Tac series are the flagship products and are highly recognisable. Many of Kartell's designer pieces have not only won various prizes, but can also be admired in museums despite their relatively young age.
