AJ Mini - classic designer table lamp in a smaller version Designed back in 1957, the AJ lamp series with its characteristic lampshade, which is cylindrical in the upper section and conical in the lower section, has become a true design icon. The Danish architect, author, journalist, critic and designer Arne Jacobsen developed AJ as part of his furnishing concept for Copenhagen's SAS Royal (Radisson) Hotel. With AJ Mini, the luminaire manufacturer Louis Poulsen, which has been active since 1874, has reissued the original table lamp in a reduced size. The structure remains unchanged; a slender rod supporting the lampshade emerges from the oval, cut-out base with switch. This is painted white on the inside for efficient light control. Thanks to the swivelling mounting, it can also be directed to the desired area, for example for reading light in the living room or to emphasise other furnishings.
