AJ Mini - classic designer table lamp in a smaller version


Designed back in 1957, the AJ series of lights with their characteristic lampshade, cylindrical at the top and conical at the bottom, has become a true design icon. Danish architect, author, journalist, critic and designer Arne Jacobsen developed AJ as part of his interior design concept for the SAS Royal (Radisson) Hotel in Copenhagen. Louis Poulsen, a lighting manufacturer since 1874, has reissued the original table lamp in a smaller size as AJ Mini.

The structure remains unchanged; a slender rod emerges from the oval, cut-out base with switch and supports the lampshade. This is painted white on the inside for efficient light control. Thanks to its swivelling mounting, it can also be directed to the desired area, for example for reading light in the living room or to highlight other furnishings.
