Cirque: designer hanging light with a grey and white block stripe pattern


The onion-shaped lampshade on the Cirque hanging light is made of extruded aluminium and is painted in various shades of grey. It has been inspired by the Onion Domes in Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen. This source of inspiration comes as no surprise, when you consider that the designer, Clara von Zweigbergk, designs lights for the manufacturer Louis Poulsen and that the briefing for this series of lights took place in Tivoli – the famous theme park in the heart of Copenhagen.

The interior of the lampshade has been painted white to ensure that the light is reflected in the best possible way. The light shines downwards without glare.

After completing her degree in Graphic Design, Stockholm-based designer Clara von Zweigbergk worked for advertising agencies and design studios in Stockholm, Los Angeles and Milan. She now owns her own studio. She has already been awarded the Wallpaper Design Award and the Swedish Design Award.
