Suspension lamp Enigma 425 in aluminium and white - soft light and a touch of weightlessness


Enigma 425 combines simple basic shapes with cleverly arranged elements to create a pendant luminaire that is both harmonious and pleasant to look at. The implementation by the renowned Danish luminaire manufacturer Louis Poulsen promises flawless quality.

The shade is a downward facing cone of brushed aluminium. Below it hang four horizontally positioned rings whose increasingly smaller openings gradually filter the light. The thin material is slightly translucent and matt on top, while the shiny undersides reflect the light. The result is a gentle ambient lighting. In addition, the rings themselves are accentuated and appear like floating elements.

The creator of the lamp, the Japanese designer Shoichi Uchiyama, focuses on working with glare-free indirect light. His concepts combine high-quality lighting and stylistic borrowings from Japanese tradition and have received several awards, for example the iF Award in Germany and the Good Design Award in Japan.
