LED pendant luminaire Keglen - minimalist conical shade with drop-shaped diffuser

The Keglen pendant luminaire offered by the traditional Danish manufacturer Louis Poulsen is the perfect example of how effective yet pleasant lighting and simple yet stylish design can be combined in one luminaire. The concept was developed by the Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), an international association of experts in the fields of architecture, landscape design, interior design, research and development, urban planning and product design. Within the planning of the Tirpitz Museum in Denmark, BIG has, among other things, designed Keglen. In addition to public areas such as restaurants and meeting rooms, the pendant luminaire also makes a convincing impression in private living and dining rooms.

The special feature of the pendant luminaire is the organic-looking, curved diffuser made of opal polycarbonate, which eliminates the glare effect of the light emitted downwards by the internal LEDs. In addition to the flat direct light, the ceiling is also subtly illuminated. For this purpose, there is a small opening at the tip of the upwardly tapering conical shade. This is made of aluminium, unicoloured on the outside and white on the inside.
