Black lacquered outdoor wall light PH3-2 1/2 in stainless steel


The PH 3-2 1/2 outdoor wall light fits perfectly into the series of pendant, wall, table and floor lamps with a three-shade system, the first design of which dates back to 1925/26 by Poul Henningsen. The Danish designer, architect, writer and journalist wanted to create lights with glare-free light emission, whose light cone is directed straight down to the right place. A lifelong collaboration with the lighting company Louis Poulsen, the manufacturer of the lights, resulted in Poul Henningsen's death in 1976.

The lampshade of the PH 3-2 1/2 outdoor wall light consists of an upper segment with a diameter of 30 cm and two lampshade segments of the 2 1/2 model below. The wall arm and lampshades are made of stainless steel and have been painted black, making the light almost universally combinable. The inside of the lampshades were painted matt white to ensure soft light reflection.

Since its foundation in 1974, Louis Poulsen has developed into a highly successful global lighting company whose production is always guided by the design and lighting philosophy of "form follows function" and the desire to create lights that are decorative both when switched on and off and whose lighting atmosphere makes people feel comfortable.
