PH 5 300 designer pendant light with a monochrome finish and triple shade

The classic PH 5 300 pendant light is a harmonious combination of diverse shapes, featuring a matt-lacquered, monochrome finish alongside its elegantly rounded triple shades. This adds a modern element to the well-known design of this iconic light. The arrangement of the lampshades, which vary in size, ensures that they reflect the light and illuminate the light itself. The light is directed mainly downwards; it is completely glare-free and is diffused throughout the room. Some light also radiates to the sides, creating a pleasant illumination of the room. Its compact size makes the pendant light versatile – whether in the living area or above the dining table, it provides equally optimal lighting whilst being an absolute eye-catcher. The delicate struts, which appear to visually connect the lampshades, add an attractive detail.

In 1958, the Danish designer Poul Henningsen designed this series of lights. He was responding to the constantly changing shapes and sizes of traditional light bulbs and created a light fitting that could accommodate all shapes. The designer lived from 1894 to 1967 and designed numerous designer lights for the long-established Danish company Louis Poulsen.
