PH 4 1/2 - 3 1/2 table lamp – a classic in an elegant chrome finish

The PH 4 1/2 - 3 1/2 table lamp achieves its pleasant lighting effect through indirect radiation, which is achieved by the clever, characteristic shade construction of the series. It consists of an upper layer that curves downwards slightly, followed by a dome-shaped layer and an almost cylindrical layer. These completely cover the bulb. The handblown opal glass is matt on the inside and shiny on the outside, so that the light is refracted as it passes through the material and is partially reflected between the layers.

The metal frame is completely covered with a chrome layer. Three narrow, ribbed sections below and above the lampshade break up the otherwise smooth, shiny finish. The base is equipped with an on/off switch.

PH is a milestone in the 42-year collaboration between Danish designer, architect, journalist, author and critic Poul Henningsen and lighting manufacturer Louis Poulsen, founded in 1874. Even though the PH series was created back in 1925/26, the design itself still looks contemporary today and can be ideally combined with a modern interior style in private living spaces or prestigious public areas.
