Two-bulb VL Ring Crown wall light creates stylish interior accents

In the 1940s, the Danish architect Vilhelm Lauritzen designed wall and hanging lights for the broadcasting building in Copenhagen. The brand manufacturer Louis Poulsen has now included these lights in its product range, together with the original design and the materials used at the time.

This wall light with its two elegant handblown opal glass lampshades is part of the VL Ring Crown series. The lampshades are open at the bottom and emit a direct light downwards. In addition, the light also gently penetrates the white opal glass and bathes the surrounding area in a pleasantly warm light. The light’s wall mount is made of untreated brass whose surface may change over time and develop a patina.

In his architectural works and his lighting creations, Lauritzen always focused on the interplay of different luminous intensities. In his lights, he combined a powerful, targeted light that casts shadows with a weaker, diffuse light that creates nuances, as can be seen in the VL Ring Crown wall light.
