Glamorous Aurora designer ceiling light made from Plainflex® and crystals
The Aurora ceiling light is a real highlight and a decorative feature for any room. The crystal core amplifies the light, which seems to circle in rhythm with its reflections, while the ceiling lamp spreads grace and elegance throughout the room. Thanks to a practical magnet system, the light can be easily attached to the ceiling. The exceptionally designed lampshade can be conveniently removed, which makes it easy to replace the bulb and clean the surfaces.
Made from high-quality technopolymers, which are specially developed and processed by the lighting manufacturer Slamp, the distinctive and luxurious design was created by the internationally renowned architect and designer Nigel Coates. But Aurora is not just a light source that can be used in both private and commercial settings; it is also a design object and piece of furniture that adds a touch of glamour to any interior.
British architect and designer Nigel Coates studied at the University of Nottingham. From 1995 to 2011, he was professor and head of the Department of Architecture at the Royal College of Art, retiring in 2011. During his career, he has designed numerous pieces of furniture and light for various Italian companies. From 2008 to 2010, he was art director at Slamp. Coates strives to combine art and intelligence with architecture and design – regardless of the space or object in question, he always interprets it with passion, irony and instinct.
The Italian lighting company Slamp was founded in 1992 by Roberto Ziliani and attaches particular importance to the development of innovative materials in the manufacture of its designer lights. Slamp has developed exclusive and specially patented technopolymers such as Cristalflex®, Opalflex® and Lentiflex®. These are not only particularly environmentally friendly, contributing to a fourfold reduction in environmental costs compared to alternatives, but also serve to achieve unique lighting effects. Technopolymers are manufactured without adhesives or screws, but are assembled by hand using plug connections, which allow shapes and effects to be achieved that would not be possible with other materials.
