The Italian design company Slamp, based in Rome, was founded in the early 1990s by Roberto Ziliani. Ziliani was already working as a designer when he finally discovered his passion for the possibilities of light.

Slamp places particular emphasis on the development of innovative materials. In addition to natural and traditional materials such as leather, copper, crystal and stainless steel, Slamp works with exclusive and specially patented materials such as Cristalflex®, Opalflex® and Lentiflex®. These materials can be used to achieve unique lighting effects. Lentiflex®, for example, looks like water that changes colour depending on the angle from which it is viewed. These materials, developed in-house, and the lights created from them clearly express Slamp's strengths.
