Handmade LED hanging light Beat Tall made of brass The narrow lampshade of the Beat Tall LED pendant light, which is reminiscent of an hourglass, is made of Massive sheet brass. It was manufactured by master craftsmen in India using traditional brass craftsmanship. The hand-beaten inside of the lampshade not only creates a beautiful lighting effect, each light bears the signature of the craftsman who made it and is unique. The narrow form and downward light emission make the light an Ideal light source above a small side table. The Beat project - and thus the production of the eponymous light series - began in 2004, when Tom Dixon was involved in an initiative in Jaipur, India, which aimed to give the dwindling number of craftsmen in the region a perspective. Since then, the lampshades in the Beat series have been made by hand in Moradabad in northern India, braised and beaten on the inside by hand. This makes each piece unique. It can take up to four days to complete a lampshade.
