Palma LED pendant light – a luminous, hanging garden for indoor use


Light and vegetation are undoubtedly linked in nature. In order to incorporate this connection into interior design, designer Antoni Arola created the Palma pendant light for brand manufacturer Vibia. He drew inspiration from the hanging gardens of antiquity.

The light consists of two elements. Firstly, an opal glass sphere with integrated LEDs provides warm lighting. This consists of two hemispheres connected by an aluminium ring. This gives the sphere a rather flattened shape, reminiscent of the globe. Below this is a plastic plant bowl that completes the appearance of a hanging garden.

By combining light and plants, Antoni Arola has created a living indoor gardening project, so to speak, that changes continuously over time. The plants help to create a cosy atmosphere in the room, providing warmth that is especially welcome on cold winter days.
