LED pendant luminaire Palma - a luminous hanging garden for indoor use


Light and vegetation are undoubtedly connected in nature. In order to be able to incorporate this connection into the design of interior areas, the designer Antoni Arola created the Palma pendant lamp for the brand manufacturer VIBIA. He was inspired by the hanging gardens of antiquity.

The light consists of two elements. On the one hand, a sphere made of opal glass with integrated LEDs provides warm lighting. This consists of two hemispheres that are connected by an aluminium ring. This makes the shape of the sphere rather flattened and thus reminiscent of the globe. Underneath is a plastic planter that completes the appearance of a hanging garden.

With the combination of light and plants, Antoni Arola has, so to speak, created a living horticultural project for the interior that continues to change over time. With the help of the plants, a cosy atmosphere is created in the room, which provides the missing warmth especially on cold winter days.
